Classifications influence our thoughts and actions. In Arabic, German and English we address the question of what it means to be a human being within certain standardised orders. Within the current order, dominant social categories such as “male”, “cis”, “heterosexual”, “white”, “educated”, “working”, “German-speaking” etc. are symbolically charged, making it easier for certain groups of people to attain a “better status” and live without hurdles.

In the route Humans Involved – Genres of Being Human, we consciously move against prescribed systems of inequalities.

Participation is free, but registration is required.
